At the core of Narellan Pools® is a philosophy of making a difference and giving back to the communities we operate in; locally, nationally and internationally. Owners, Chris and Debb Meyer believe if everyone shared this philosophy about giving back, the world would be a better place.
This commitment is top down; starting with the leaders of Narellan Pools® and extending right through to a grass-roots level with franchisees.
Narellan Pools® commitment to remaining ethical whilst contributing to economic development and improving the quality of life of communities they operate in is a focus and passion. Chris and Debb Meyer have been recognised both as a franchisor and manufacturer for their work in social responsibility.
The First Seeds Fund is Australia’s first gift giving circle. Bringing together a group of female entrepreneurs to break the cycle of poverty and abuse in our Aussie backyard. The Fund works hard to improve the lives of women and children with a focus on community support, education programs and employment.
Narellan Pools® are the major supporter of the Fund’s work in supporting women and children at Warwick Farm, one of the most disadvantaged communities in the country. Debb Meyer is a First Seeds Board Member.
The Ingham Institute is a not-for-profit medical research organisation in Sydney’s South West that undertakes medical research that specifically addresses, and can be applied to, the needs of the local population and wider Australia.
The Ingham Institute comprises a state of the art research precinct located at Liverpool Hospital consisting of a Research Building, a Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre and a Research Bunker containing the MRI-Linac, a unique cancer therapy technology that will be an Australian-first. Narellan Pools® supports the Ingham Institute’s annual Hope Luncheon, providing a platform for the Institute to communicate the world-class research they are undertaking with the Sydney community.
Narellan Pools® have ‘adopted a room’ at Sydney Children’s Hospital’s Ronald McDonald House.
Since 1991, the 32-room facility has been providing a ‘home away from home’ for seriously sick children and their families as they undergo treatment. Ronald McDonald House offers a comfortable stay for 700 families each year, alleviating some of the practical burden that childhood illness imposes on families.
The Narellan Pools® corporate team are actively engaged in the charity, including participating in Ronald McDonald House charity evenings and the Make A Meal program.
At a Franchise Level
Award-winning franchisees, Danny and Fiona Harvey, are true leaders in the Narellan Pools community with their commitment to making a difference.
After witnessing the effects cancer had on their goddaughter, the couple from Illawarra wanted to give back to the community, and felt being part of the Narellan Pools® brand gave them the ability and opportunity to do so. Every year Illawarra radio station i98FM host the Camp Quality Convoy, where the community drives together led by police escort to raise funds and awareness for children living with cancer.
Narellan Pools® together with Danny and Fiona provide the major prize, building a pool for a family. As well as having a personal connection to the charity, Danny and Fiona also felt it held close to the values of Narellan Pools®, whose vision and philosophy is “We bring dreams to life.” Together they have been active ambassadors and supporters for Camp Quality for seven years, raising much needed awareness and funds for the organisation. Over 1.5 million dollars was raised in 2014.
