A new swimming pool is an exciting addition to any home, but it isn’t like a new TV that can be delivered and set up in a couple of days or less. The installation process for your swimming pool will take time to ensure everything is done right and you get the best possible swimming pool experience while complying with all the relevant rules and regulations associated with adding a new structure to your property. In this article, we’ll cover the steps involved in having a swimming pool installed and discuss why a winter installation may be the right choice for you.
The Narellan Pools installation process all starts with the conception of your swimming pools’ design. It is at this point that you will work closely with your local Narellan Pools Builder to tailor one of our unique fibreglass pool designs to your needs. We will also map out any additional features, e.g. landscaping, decking, fencing, at this point, before submitting all the relevant paperwork and receiving the required permits and permissions to start work.
Once the permits have been approved, it’s time for the first major part of your pool installation to commence.
The excavation stage is when we begin work on your property. First, the team will arrive to prepare your property for the pool installation, cleaning the area where the pool and decking are going to be installed. Then will be the excavation process. This is when your pool builder will create the hole that the pool shell will be inserted into.
Now that the site has been prepared, it’s time for the installation to commence. This is when your new swimming pool shell will be delivered to your home and installed into the excavated space.
Once the shell has been fully installed the team will then install the structural beam that provides the pool with its strength and rigidity.Once everything has been completed, the official handover will be scheduled. Even though your pool may look finished and ready to use, it isn’t quite ready until the official handover when the Narellan Pools team sign-off on the work being completed and give you a run-through of how it all works and how to best take care of your new pool.
The season you choose to have your new swimming pool installed will have a big impact on the amount of time it takes for the installation to be completed. Summer is the most popular time of year for swimming with the warmer weather, which also means it is the busiest time of year for pool builders.
Schedules get filled out quickly and if you wait till closer to summer to book your installation, you can end up waiting a fair while for your installation appointment. Local councils also tend to be busier during the summer so receiving the planning permission and permits may take significantly longer. A winter installation means you generally have more flexibility when it comes to finding the best time for your pool install.
If you have your pool installed in the winter, it means that when the warmer weather comes around it will be ready to go as soon as possible, often in early spring, allowing you to take advantage of an extended swim season from the start. If you opt for heating options, you can even start using your pool while it’s still a bit chilly outside.
