Poolside Style Made Easy

If you have an existing timber deck that needs some attention, sweep away dust, cobwebs, leaves and bird droppings, then thoroughly clean with a product such as Sikkens Cetol BL® Deck & Wood Cleaner. This gel formulation rejuvenates grey and old decking by drawing out dirt and grime and allows a new coating to properly penetrate and adhere to the timber for long-lasting protection.

If the deck is in bad condition, it may be necessary to strip back and sand the surface before recoating. Signs a deck may need to be recoated include peeling, flaking, discolouration, mould growth or greying of the timber surface.

Any areas affected by mould or mildew must be properly treated before recoating, otherwise, mould will continue to grow underneath the fresh paintwork.

Timber is a porous material and should always be coated after cleaning to protect the surface. Whether oil or water-based, always choose the best timber coating you can afford. A quality coating such as Sikkens Cetol Deck will last much longer than cheap decking oils.

When the deck is clean, recoated and looking amazing, it’s time to think about furniture and accessories.

Rejuvenate existing metal chairs, tables and planter pots with Hammerite™ Direct to Rust Metal Paint. This easy-to-brush-on paint is available in hammered, satin or smooth finishes, and will provide a strong, durable coating that prevents rust and corrosion.

Formulated with DUALTECH Technology to ensure two-way protection by repelling water and stopping rust, Hammerite is a quick and simple ‘one tin’ solution – no primer or undercoat is required. It is also suitable for pool fences to ensure your pool area is looking its best all year round.
